An impressive field of 144 LPGA golfers is coming to the Brickyard Crossing Golf Course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sept. 7-9 for the inaugural Indy Women in Tech Championship presented by Guggenheim, led by 10 of the 12 members of the victorious American team in the recent Solheim Cup competition. Team USA Solheim Cup members competing in the tournament include Lexi Thompson, Stacy Lewis, Gerina Piller, Cristie Kerr, Danielle Kang, Brittany Lang, Lizette Salas, Angel Yin, Austin Ernst and Paula Creamer. Team USA defeated Team Europe, 16.5-11.5, on Aug. 18-20 at W. Des Moines, Iowa, in the biennial, match-play competition. View Entry List Thompson is the highest-ranked world player in the tournament, at No. 2 in the Rolex Rankings. Other top-10 players in the tournament include No. 7 Lydia Ko of New Zealand and No. 10 Brooke Henderson of Canada. Five of the top 10 money winners this season on the LPGA Tour are competing at Brickyard Crossing: No. 3 Thompson, No. 5 Henderson, No. 6 Mi Jung Hur of South Korea, No. 7 Sei Young Kim of South Korea and No. 9 Kerr. All golfers in the Indy Women in Tech presented by Guggenheim – vying for a winner’s purse of $300,000 – will play on a rerouted version of Brickyard Crossing. Traditional holes 7-10 inside the track will become tournament holes 15-18, with the procession of the remaining holes also changing. The decision to reroute the golf course was done to create a more impactful experience for players, spectators, and television viewers. Tickets for the event are available at IMS.com.
