NASCAR legend Jimmie Johnson will aim for his record-tying fifth Brickyard 400 victory this year, making his first start in the prestigious event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway since 2019.
Johnson will drive the No. 84 Toyota Camry XSE, with sponsorship from Carvana, in the Brickyard 400 presented by PPG on Sunday, July 21. The annual summer classic returns to the 2.5-mile oval this year for the first time since 2020, as the race took place on the 2.439-mile road course from 2021-23.
Seven-time Cup Series champion Johnson also will race in the season-opening Daytona 500 and the season finale at Phoenix Raceway in a three-race sttine with LEGACY MOTOR CLUB.
“I’m so proud to represent Carvana for a second NASCAR season, and our fourth season overall as partners, at some of my favorite races,” Johnson said. “Carvana is a fun brand that captures the joy of cars and racing, and they do a great job leveraging their partnership with LEGACY M.C.”
This season Carvana’s paint schemes will honor the legacy Johnson has built across his career with three unique designs.
2024 NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee Johnson won the Brickyard 400 in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2012. He will tie former Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jeff Gordon for the most Brickyard victories in history with a fifth win.
Johnson won 83 Cup Series races during his full-time career in the series from 2002-20. He missed the Brickyard 400 during his final full season behind the wheel due to COVID-19. Johnson then competed in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES in the 2021 and 2022 seasons before focusing on his ownership duties with LEGACY in 2023 while also making three Cup Series starts.
