Month of May Education Hub
Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Speeds increase all month as the drivers and teams of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES prepare to qualify and race in the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge and the Sonsio Grand Prix. Enjoy the sights and sounds of May at the Brickyard while seeing your favorite drivers push their cars to the limit at speeds over 230 mph.
500 Festival
The 500 Festival is a nonprofit organization that produces 40 community events and programs that celebrate the spirit and legacy of the Indianapolis 500. Beyond May, the 500 Festival provides free youth programs across Indiana focused on education, health, and leadership.
Through its youth programs, the 500 Festival creates opportunities for Indiana students to learn, move, and grow. The Education Program brings Indiana Academic Standards-aligned curriculum and field trip experiences to 4th graders statewide, while KidsFit helps K-6 students build healthy habits through wellness and fitness activities. For college students, the 500 Festival Princess Program provides leadership development, scholarship opportunities, and impactful real-world experiences.
IMS Museum
Driven by the stories, history, and excitement of the Indy 500 and the motorsports industry, our educational programs educate, inspire, and motivate young learners. Through authentic, problem-based experiences—including hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and interactive experiments—students explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM).
Whether participating through field trips, homeschool days, or summer camps, students connect with historical innovations, build essential modern skills, and discover the future of motorsports technology. Join us to accelerate learning and inspire the next generation of innovators and race fans!
