Faces of the 500

Faces of the "500" Summer Camp

Faces of the "500" is a 5-day immersive experience for students in grades 2nd-4th (ages 7-10) designed to spark curiosity and a sense of belonging at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. By connecting the “magic” of racing traditions with hands-on STEAM exploration, we aim to help every camper see themselves as a future member of a professional racing team. Each day, campers will be introduced to a different “face” of the Indianapolis 500, combining historical context with modern STEAM applications.

Racing careers

Racing Careers Summer Camp

Racing Careers camp allows 6th-8th grade students to step into the world of racing as rookie Team Owners. Throughout the week, they will manage every aspect of a simulated racing season—from forming their brand and attracting sponsorships to tracking a budget, building and modifying a drag race car, and overcoming unexpected challenges. Each day introduces campers to specific careers on a professional team, providing insight into the skills needed to succeed in roles beyond the driver. The week culminates in a presentation and car demonstration detailing the team’s success and the obstacles conquered.

Robo racers

Robo Racers Summer Camp

Robo Racers camp immerses 5th-8th grade students in the exciting future of racing, where they will design, build, and code a custom autonomous LEGO robot. Teams will learn sensor-based coding to guide their creations around a complex racecourse, competing head-to-head for the fastest lap time. Develop your brand identity, master programming, and vie for victory in the ultimate “Innovation 500” autonomous challenge!
