In the land of the star spangled banner Matt Hall sparkled brightest - fastest qualifier for the second race running.Leader Martin Sonka was the most successful in 4th. Muroya struggled down in 11th. US hero Kirby Chambliss was one place lower, a shadow of his usual self.
