MotoAmerica Fans Encouraged To ‘Plan Ahead’ with IMS.com

Fans attending MotoAmerica Superbikes at the Brickyard at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Oct. 9-11 are encouraged to “Plan Ahead” through IMS.com/PlanAhead, an interactive web page that serves as a home base for fans headed to the track this weekend.
The “Plan Ahead” page features detailed information about the entire fan experience at IMS, including directions, parking, schedule, gate regulations, digital ticket and parking guide, ADA accessibility and much more.
Additionally, IMS.com/PlanAhead highlights a number of key health and safety measures being enforced to protect fans, participants, workforce and the broader community. These measures have been developed in consultation with health experts and city/state officials.
Fans will sit in a socially distanced manner in all grandstands, and seats will be stickered to denote open, available seats. All fans will receive a wristband after passing temperature screening at the gate. Face coverings must be worn throughout the property at all times. IMS will provide all individuals entering the venue with a complimentary disposable mask and an individual hand sanitizer.
More Fan Information
All Speedway patrons should be aware of the following to ensure a successful day at the track:
- Public Parking: Paid public parking is available on the south end of the racetrack near Gate 1. The Main Gate parking lot will be open to automobiles, and Parcel B parking lot, located just off the roundabout, will be open to motorcycle parking. ADA parking will be available in Parcel B. Parking is $10 on Friday and Saturday, and $20 on Sunday.
- Pedestrian Gate Entry: Gate 1 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will be open, allowing access to the Turn 1 grandstands of the IMS oval, which offer strong sightlines of the road course. Fans will not be permitted into other zones of the racetrack or the IMS infield for race-viewing purposes.
- IMS Museum: The IMS Museum, located inside Gate 2 of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, will be open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. All IMS Museum guests will go through temperature screening prior to visiting the IMS Museum. Admission is $12 for adults, $11 for guests over the age of 62, $8 for guests ages 6-15 and children 5 and under are free.
For fans attending MotoAmerica Superbikes at the Brickyard, an IMS Museum shuttle bus will be located in front of the IMS Administration building near Gate 1, offering fans rides to the IMS Museum. Fans interested in visiting the museum can receive a pass-out from the gate staff if they would like to re-enter the facility after their museum visit. Museum entry is not included in an event ticket.
Guests only looking to visit the IMS Museum can drive up to Gate 2. The vehicle will be given a parking tag, and guests will only be able to park at, and enter, the museum. By doing this, IMS Museum guests will not have to pay admission for the event, but they will have no other access to the infield. The Turn 2 viewing mounds and South Terrace grandstands will be closed.
- Digital Tickets and Parking Passes: All tickets and parking passes are digital or print-at-home. Race fans who order tickets in advance may select their delivery method at checkout. Digital tickets and parking passes can be accessed on the IMS App or on their smart phone’s web browser. Fans are encouraged to ensure the brightness on their smart phone is turned up before approaching the gate for a seamless scanning of their digital ticket. Digital tickets can be purchased on-site at the Ticket Remote located at Gate 1.
- Weekend Street Parking: Race event parking restrictions in the Town of Speedway will not be enforced during MotoAmerica Superbikes at the Brickyard weekend. Three-hour parking will be monitored and enforced on both sides of Main Street between 10th Street and 16th Street over the course of the race weekend. There will be no anticipated road closures or lane restrictions during the event weekend.
Additional Resources and Information
No coolers larger than 18 inches by 14 inches by 14 inches can be brought into the facility, which will be strictly enforced. Fans will be allowed to bring one cooler and one standard backpack or book bag per person.
