The weekend is almost here, which means the Red Bull Air Race World Championship will soon fly into the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for its third annual event. Red Bull has a way of amping up every event, with not only exciting racing but also with many World of Red Bull Athletes performing for fans at IMS. This year, the event also is turned up a notch with global music superstar Kaskade for a concert on Saturday evening. With such a jam-packed event schedule, here’s a breakdown of the weekend so you can experience everything the world of Red Bull has to offer.

Red Bull Athletes

The World of Red Bull is on full-display at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway with FMX shows, motorcycle trials, aerobatic airplanes, the Red Bull Air Force, a stunt helicopter (yes, I said stunt helicopter) and much more! Driver Appearances / A.J. Foyt

The Red Bull Air Race attracts celebrities and drivers from all types of motorsport to enjoy the weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In 2017, Indianapolis 500 champion Takuma Sato famously cheered fellow countryman Yoshi Muroya to victory at the track.

This year, the Red Bull Air Race has attracted one of racing’s most-famous figures, four-time Indianapolis 500 winner A.J. Foyt, to take on grand marshal duties for the event. Foyt will deliver a competition command from Race Control and meet pilots from the Red Bull Air Race World Championship, including fellow Texan Kirby Chambliss.

Red Bull World Championship

The major highlight of the weekend is, of course, the Red Bull Air Race, featuring pilots from around the world competing against the clock at 200 mph, just 50 feet off the ground, through a course marked by 82-foot-tall Air Pylons over the IMS infield.

Saturday features practice and qualifying for the pilots of the Master Class and Challenger Class of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship. Tickets for Saturday start at only $20! It all leads up to Sunday as pilots compete in a tournament-style competition against each other throughout the day. Racing begins at 11:45 a.m., and tickets for Sunday start at just $35.

Since this event is hosted on the north end of the facility, parking and gates on the south end of IMS will not be accessible. Please ensure that you use 30th Street for access to IMS parking lots and gates. Parking is available in lots 1A, 1B, 7 (North 40) and 8. Please plan to pay in cash when you arrive at the lots if you don’t already have your parking reserved.
