Racing history may be made before a car turns a lap at full power on the completed new Dirt Track at IMS, as 100 cars already are entered for the inaugural Driven2SaveLives BC39 presented by NOS Energy Drink on Sept. 5-6 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The entry total is closing in on the all-time United States Auto Club (USAC) record for cars for a P1 Insurance National Midget Championship event, as 109 cars were entered in the 1990 Turkey Night Grand Prix, the final race held at Ascot Park in California. The all-time USAC National event entry record is 138 Sprint Cars for the 2003 Mopar Million at Eldora Speedway. The entry deadline for the BC39 is Wednesday, Aug. 29.

Tickets for both nights of the Driven2SaveLives BC39 presented by NOS Energy Drink are available now at IMS.com.

The race on the new, quarter-mile clay oval inside Turn 3 of the famed IMS asphalt oval honors late USAC champion and three-time Indianapolis 500 starter Bryan Clauson and increases awareness of the Indiana Donor Network and its Driven2SaveLives campaign. The 39-lap feature event will be the richest in Midget racing, with more than $70,000 in purse and incentives, including a $15,000 winner’s purse.

Among the latest entries are the nine filed by the Keith Kunz Motorsports/Curb-Agajanian team, which features a loaded lineup that includes 2013 USAC National Midget and 2017 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Christopher Bell, 2017 USAC National Midget titlist Spencer Bayston and current series point leader Logan Seavey.

The remainder of the KKM lineup includes female drivers Holly Shelton and Maria Cofer, as well as 2017 series Rookie of the Year Tanner Carrick, Ryan Robinson, Tucker Klaasmeyer and Sam Johnson.

Also among recent entries are two past winners of major events. 2006 Turkey Night Grand Prix winner Billy Wease, from nearby Noblesville, Indiana, has signed to drive the Amanda Wease No. 12w. John Heydenreich, who won the 1987 Hut Hundred at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, will drive his No. 22 at the BC39.

Previous entries include 2017 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rookie of the Year Chase Briscoe, USAC Triple Crown champs Tracy Hines, Jerry Coons Jr. and J.J. Yeley, who also is a veteran of both the Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400, plus Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race winner Ricky Stenhouse Jr., USAC Silver Crown and National Sprint Car champion Chris Windom, two-time USAC National Sprint Car champ Brady Bacon and 2016 USAC National Midget champion Tanner Thorson.

Nine-time Indianapolis 500 starter Sarah Fisher will field a car for Dave Darland, the winningest USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car driver of all time. Reigning USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car owner champion Baldwin Brothers Racing will field its familiar orange No. 5 for C.J. Leary, a recent Indiana Sprint Week winner at Bloomington Speedway. ARDC Midget champion and current USAC Eastern Midget point leader Alex Bright has entered his No. 77 in which he recently raced to second- and fourth-place finishes during Pennsylvania Midget Week.

The BC39 starts five consecutive days of racing at IMS, leading into the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard Powered by Florida Georgia Line weekend Sept. 7-9 on the 2.5-mile IMS oval. Stenhouse also will race in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series event Sunday, Sept. 9, while Bell also will compete in the Lilly Diabetes 250 for the NASCAR Xfinity Series on Saturday, Sept. 8.

Hot laps, heat races and a pursuit race will be featured Wednesday, Sept. 5. Hot laps, practice, qualifying races, alphabet mains, including the A-Main feature, will take place Thursday, Sept. 6.

All tickets for Wednesday’s action are general admission, with children 15 and under admitted free with an adult.

Reserved and general admission seats are available for Thursday’s action. All seats in the Shaw Grandstand around The Dirt Track are reserved. All fans 15 and under will be admitted free to the general admission area, located in the Northeast Vista grandstands outside Turn 3 of the IMS oval, on Thursday when accompanied by an adult general admission ticket holder.
