NASCAR recently unveiled the trophy it will award to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Regular Season Champion after the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard Powered by Florida Georgia Line on Sunday, Sept. 9 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard Powered by Florida Georgia Line is serving as the final race of the NASCAR Cup Series regular season for the first time, with the 16-driver field for the NASCAR Playoffs set at IMS.
Two-time Brickyard winner Kyle Busch leads the Cup Series standings this season. Martin Truex Jr. won the Regular Season Championship in 2017 and also went on to win the Playoffs.
The Cup Series Regular Season Championship trophy, 2 feet tall and weighing approximately 35 pounds, features a spire for each of the 26 races in the regular season, with the name of the track engraved on it. The trophies are composed of steel and aluminum and made by Jostens in Oklahoma City.
