Seven of the top 10 players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings will play in the second annual Indy Women in Tech Championship driven by Group One Thousand One on Aug. 16-19 at Brickyard Crossing Golf Course, including world No. 1 Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand and reigning tournament champion Lexi Thompson of the United States. The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tournament will be contested on Brickyard Crossing, a Pete Dye-designed 18-hole course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway that includes four holes inside the famous 2.5-mile oval. View Full Indy Women in Tech Field List Thompson, from Coral Springs, Florida, won the inaugural event by four shots over Lydia Ko, who also is returning to play this year. Besides leading the Rolex rankings, Jutanugarn also is the runaway leading money winner on the LPGA Tour in 2018, with $2,161,185 in earnings, and also is the Race to CME Globe points leader. She has three victories this season, including the U.S. Women’s Open. Other golfers in the top 10 of the Rolex rankings playing next week at Brickyard Crossing are No. 2 So Yeon Ryu, No. 4 Sung Hyun Park, No. 5 Thompson, No. 6 Shanshan Feng, No. 7 Minjee Lee and No. 9 Jessica Korda. The field of 142 golfers also includes popular American players Paula Creamer, Cristie Kerr, Danielle Kang, Lizette Salas, Brittany Lang and Morgan Pressel. Indianapolis resident Danah Bordner also will be a local fan favorite in the field for the second consecutive year. Another attraction besides golf at the IWiT Championship is the return of the byte @ THE #IWiTCHAMP presented by Indiana Grand Racing & Casino on Saturday, Aug. 18 and Sunday, Aug. 19 at Brickyard Crossing Golf Course. This food experience will take place from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18 and from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Sunday. A live band will follow play Saturday, while a brunch-inspired menu will be featured Sunday. Commitments have been received from Ruth’s Chris, Roosters Kitchen, O’Reilly’s, CharBlue, Big Woods, Sun King Brewing Co., Daredevil Brewing Co, Garden Party Botanical Hard Soda and many more.
