Brickyard Crossing Golf Course, located on the grounds of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, is one of seven elite golf courses on the Pete Dye Golf Trail that was relaunced Friday, April 20.
All seven courses were designed by Indiana resident Pete Dye, arguably the most influential golf course architect in the world over the last five decades.
Indiana Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch and Indiana Office of Tourism Development (IOTD) officials unveiled the revived Pete Dye Golf Trail today at Brickyard Crossing, which Dye redesigned in 1992-93.
“Beautiful golf courses span across our entire nation,” Crouch said. “Rather uniquely, Indiana is known for having some of the most exclusive golfing experiences, and now that the Indiana Office of Tourism Development has taken charge of the trail, we can continue to attract visitors to these courses.”
Dye’s Brickyard Crossing design hosted the Comfort Classic for the Champions Tour, then known as the Senior PGA Tour, from 1994-2000. The LPGA returned to the course last year for the first time since 1968 with the Indy Women in Tech Championship, won by American superstar Lexi Thompson. That tournament returns this year from Aug. 16-19.
Brickyard Crossing also has been recognized by numerous golf publications as one of the top 100 public courses in America. The course is one of the most unique golfing experiences on Earth, with four holes located inside the world-famous 2.5-mile oval at IMS and the other 14 located just outside the backstretch of the track.
Other courses on the Pete Dye Golf Trail include Ackerman-Allen Course and Kampen Golf Course in West Lafayette, Maple Creek Golf and Country Club and The Fort Golf Resort in Indianapolis, Mystic Hills Golf Club & Lodge in Culver and The Pete Dye Golf Course at French Lick.
IOTD is relaunching VisitIndianaGolf.com. The website features almost 200 courses across the Hoosier state, showcases upcoming tournaments and events and lists special offers and discount packages.
Tee times are available to play at Brickyard rel="noopener noreferrer" Crossing. Visit brickyardcrossing.com to book tee times and for more information on the course.
