One icon is hosting another for Labor Day Weekend. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is welcoming the Mustang Club of America’s 40th Anniversary Celebration from Sept. 1-4, as some 10,000 Mustang enthusiasts from around the world are expected to visit and celebrate the rich history of the original “pony car.” The weekend will include an exciting lineup of performance cars and on-track events to honor four decades of Mustang Club of America history, and the event is open to the public. Purchase Tickets A host of activities will be available, from open-track driving events and performance ride-and-drives to a banquet with honorary speakers and the world’s largest Mustang parade. The weekend will also offer vendor booths and demonstrations offering the latest in performance technology. The Mustang Club of America (MCA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, care, history and enjoyment of all model years of Mustang, including the Shelby, Boss, Saleen, Roush, SVT Cobra, Steeda and McLaren models. Event Schedule Thursday, Sept. 1 - Gate Hours: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. The first official day of the Mustang Club of America 40th Anniversary will feature vendors, demonstrations and track events as Pony Drives and members arrive. That evening, ticketed guests can enjoy a Night at the Museum for a night of food and entertainment. Friday, Sept. 2 - Gate Hours: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. The festivities will continue with the Open Track and performance ride-and-drives at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, along with vendors, car displays and designated car corral areas for individual MCA chapters, as well as members of Shelby American Automobile Club and Team Shelby. The attempt at the world’s longest Mustang Parade will take place that evening. Saturday, Sept. 3 - Gate Hours: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Another exciting day on the track! This is the final day for the Open Track and Track Garage. The day wraps up with the MCA banquet Saturday evening featuring special guests and honorary speakers. Sunday, Sept. 4 - Gate Hours: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. The long weekend celebration comes to an end with Mustang Parade Laps on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval.
