The Indy Women in Tech (IWiT) Championship will return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Brickyard Crossing Golf Course, August 16-19, 2018. At 2017’s inaugural event, Lexi Thompson beat out Lydia Ko by four stokes to win the tournament, a $300,000 winner’s check and became the first ever female to kiss the famous yard of bricks in victory. In addition to bringing 144 of the world’s best female golfers to Indianapolis, in partnership with the Indy Women in Tech Foundation, the event will continue to provide awareness and funding for specific women and tech initiatives, particularly those focused on robotics, STEM days and career transitioning for those re-entering the workforce. Two events that will be returning to IWiT Championship week are the IWiT Summit and The Eureka! Exchange. The IWiT Summit will convene both national and local leaders and decision makers to inspire the continued diversification of the tech workforce in Indianapolis. The Eureka! Exchange will invite 1000+ Indianapolis students to experience the wonders of STEM through engaging hands on activities curated by industry experts. More events in conjunction with the IWiT Championship to be announced soon. Tickets will go on sale December 1, 2017 at IMS.com or the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Box Office, (800) 822-4639.
