Now that the Month of May is here, milk bottles also are being presented to a wide swath of groups and organizations in the greater Indianapolis area that work tirelessly and often behind the scenes to help ensure the “500” remains a thrilling, unforgettable event for hundreds of thousands of fans at IMS.

Deliveries started Tuesday, May 1 and will continue throughout the month. The groups include partners in the 500 Forward program, event operations, police, fire and safety first responders, U.S. Armed Forces, local transportation, the National Weather Service, the Department of Homeland Security, trash and recycling services, sign and graphic printing, the IMS Public Address team, security and many more.

“There are so many great people and wonderful organizations that help IMS stage the world’s largest single-day spectator sporting event every year, and we couldn’t do it without their dedication and help,” said Allison Melangton, senior vice president of events, Hulman Motorsports. “These milk bottle deliveries are a way for us to show our huge appreciation for everything they do.”

The 102nd Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil is Sunday, May 27. The fifth annual INDYCAR Grand Prix is Saturday, May 12. Visit IMS.com to buy tickets or learn more information about both events.
