Artemis II Crew Member Jeremy Hansen To Attend 2026 Indianapolis 500 Weekend

Hansen, a Canadian Space Agency astronaut, served as mission specialist among the four crew members aboard NASA’s historic Artemis II lunar flyby last month.

NASA Artemis II crew member Jeremy Hansen will attend the 2026 Indianapolis 500 Race Weekend as an honored guest of Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Hansen, a Canadian Space Agency astronaut, served as mission specialist among the four crew members aboard NASA’s historic Artemis II lunar flyby last month. The 10-day mission captivated the world, marking the first time in 54 years that humans have traveled within the vicinity of the moon.

Hansen will take part in several festivities over the race weekend, including final practice on Carb Day, the 500 Festival Parade and the 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500. Hansen also will walk the Red Carpet on race morning and be available for media interviews.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the world's largest spectator sporting facility, has been the worldwide leader in motorsports entertainment since opening in 1909. IMS will host the 110th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge – the world’s most prestigious auto race – on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
