Below you will find all the information you need for planning your trip to and from Lot 7 (North 40) at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Know Before You Go
Parking lot Opens at: 5:00 AM
On race day, to ensure smooth entry, all fans should arrive at the gate closest to their seating location before 10 a.m.
Know Before You Go Home
As you prepare to leave Indianapolis Motor Speedway, please be patient and note the following:
- To keep everyone safe, vehicles will not be released from IMS parking lots until pedestrian traffic allows for clear roadways. This can take up to an hour following the end of the Race.
- Please follow the directions provided as they are designed to get you out and away from the Speedway as quickly and efficiently as possible. Road closures and restrictions are in place to help more traffic to the nearest interstate.
Waze/Google Maps
The IMS Team has worked with Google Maps, Waze and other navigation systems to adapt to these directions on Race Day to make this process even easier! Waze provides up to date traffic information, including any day specific road closures or re-routing. To ensure you're arriving at the facility in the best manner possible, including the correct lot entry gate, please view the directions to your lot on Waze or Google Maps.
Arrival
The preferred method of arriving to your lot is by following the directions provided through the Waze link above. This will provide you with the most updated road and traffic conditions on the day you are arriving.
Inbound Road Closures and Map
Closures will occur between 16th Street and 10th Street on Olin Avenue starting at approximately 11 a.m. Polco Street will not be accessible northbound from 10th Street during this time.
Post Event
The preferred method of leaving your lot is by following the directions provided through the Waze link above. This will provide you with the most updated road and traffic conditions post event, accounting for changes in egress flow.
Outbound Road Closures and Map
Use the maps below to see your lot's planned traffic patterns as you exit the facility. You will be directed by law enforcement down these routes until you get to the stared locations near the freeways.
Vehicular traffic exiting Indianapolis Motor Speedway parking lots will be directed by public safety officials to ensure the quickest possible route. Vehicles can be held in lots upwards of two hours following the race while awaiting pedestrian traffic to clear.
