Kaylee Bryson, the first female winner of a USAC National Series feature race, will compete in the Driven2SaveLives BC39 presented by Avanti Windows & Doors on Sept. 26-28 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Bryson, from Muskogee, Oklahoma, will drive the No. 58 entry of Indianapolis-based Abacus Racing as a teammate to USAC standout Logan Seavey on the quarter-mile dirt oval inside Turn 3 at IMS.
“As a driver, you always want to know that you have a chance to win,” Bryson said. “I have watched what Abacus has done these last few years, and so I know we will have a great car for the BC39. And having a teammate like Logan does not hurt, obviously. They put both of their cars in the BC39 last year, and the goal is to do the same this year.”
In May, Bryson made history by winning the USAC Silver Crown Series feature at the Belleville (Kansas) High Banks. She also was the first woman to make the A-Feature at the prestigious Chili Bowl Nationals.
Abacus brings a winning pedigree to one of the most prestigious USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship events of the season. Seavey has won two races this season for the team in USAC Midget competition, and the team also leads the USAC National Sprint Car standings this season. Seavey and Abacus teamed up last season to win the USAC Midget National Championship, the second for Seavey.
“Kaylee and I have known each other for a while, and there has been a mutual desire to have her drive for us someday,” Abacus Team Principal Brent Cox said. “We came close a few other times, but various issues prevented that from happening. But I reached out to her a few weeks ago and asked her if she had a BC39 ride, and she said she did not, so that put the process in motion.”
