IMS Implements In Stadium Solutions Fan Engagement System

As part of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s continuous efforts to provide fans with the safest and most enjoyable experiences possible while attending events at the “Racing Capital of the World,” a new system has been implemented that will allow visitors the opportunity to ask questions or voice concerns to IMS staff members by sending a text message from their cell phones.

A proven system developed by In Stadium Solutions (ISS) will give fans attending IMS events the opportunity to communicate inconspicuously and directly with IMS Panasonic Pagoda Command to report various issues by texting IMSFAN, <space>, location and specific concern to 69050.

Once the message is received, appropriate responders will be dispatched to address the situation, and if additional information is required, engaged personnel will respond with appropriate questions. Standard text message rates will apply.

“In Stadium Solutions has a proven track record in several other arenas and entertainment facilities and we felt this was the next best step in providing excellent customer service here at IMS,” said Dave Shaw, IMS senior director, operations.

“We started using it on May 3, which was Opening Day for the new aero kits (for Verizon IndyCar Series cars) and we received several messages of which we were able to respond to and then either answer questions or send assistance if it was needed. We feel great about it. It’s one more way that we can connect our employees with the fans so the fans have a direct point of contact if they need help or if they have questions -- and they don’t have to get up out of their seat to go find a member of our Safety Patrol or anybody else from IMS.”

Texts from fans may include pictures and videos that can be used to assist in explaining fan conduct situations and other circumstances requiring attention from IMS staff members or security personnel.

Currently being used in numerous NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL venues, ISS is the leading provider of fan text messaging systems to the sports and entertainment industry. ISS has also expanded its reach to include amusement parks, convention centers, amphitheaters and venues of all sizes.
