FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - TICKET INFORMATION

  • I have tickets to a July 4th Weekend event. What are my options?
  • Customers have the option to request an account credit to be used for future IMS events or a refund for purchased products associated with the following events:
    • Driven2SaveLives BC39 – July 1-2, 2020
    • GMR Grand Prix – July 4, 2020
    • NASCAR Pennzoil 150 – July 4, 2020
    • FGL Fest – July 4, 2020
    • NASCAR Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 Powered by Big Machine Records – Jul. 3-5, 2020
    Customers with these tickets on their IMS accounts will receive communication regarding their options and next steps.
  • Is the Indianapolis 500 running on Sunday, August 23, with spectators in attendance?
  • Yes.
  • I can no longer attend the Indianapolis 500 on August 23. What are my options?
  • Customers can indicate their preferences by logging in to their IMS account and following the instructions under the '2020 Indy 500 Ticket Request' section. Current customers will have the option to request an IMS account credit, to be used for future IMS events.
  • Does the account credit include all fees associated with my order?
  • Yes, service and handling fees associated with your order are eligible for an IMS account credit.
  • When will 2021 reorders begin?
  • Reorders for the 2021 Indianapolis 500, GMR Grand Prix, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and NASCAR Cup Series are now available. Indianapolis 500 reorders will conclude with the traditional 500-hour reorder window, on September 14.
  • I received complimentary items, am I eligible for a credit?
  • Complimentary items do not hold a cash value and are therefore not eligible for a credit.
  • I have already received my 2020 Indy 500 Race Day tickets. Are those valid on Aug. 23 or do I need a new ticket?
  • New Indy 500 Race Day tickets will be issued to all customers for the rescheduled Indy 500. If you have already received your original Indy 500 Race Day tickets, you may keep them, but they will not be valid for entry. If you have already received your Indy 500 Race Day parking and camping passes, please retain these for use for the rescheduled Indy 500.
  • I would like my original Indianapolis 500 ticket stock, how can I receive them?
  • Please send an email request to tickets@brickyard.com and include your customer ID number. All requests will be reviewed by the end of the year.
  • If I opt out of this year’s Indianapolis 500, can I still renew for the 2021 Indianapolis 500?
  • Yes, current ticketholders who opt out of this year’s Indianapolis 500, will still have the opportunity to renew your original order, for next year’s race. Your decision to attend the 2020 race will not impact your seniority or right to renew your tickets for the 105th Running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 30, 2021.
  • I sold my Indianapolis 500 Race Day tickets, what do I do?
  • Your current Indy 500 Race Day tickets are no longer valid. Please log into your IMS account at IMS.com to request replacement tickets for the Indianapolis 500. You are responsible for delivering the replacement tickets to the secondary purchaser.
  • I did not purchase my tickets through IMS.com or the IMS Ticket Office. What do I do?
  • You need to contact the individual or third-party site/vendor, from whom you purchased your ticket(s), to receive your replacement tickets or for information regarding a credit or refund. The original Indianapolis 500 tickets will not accepted at the gates. IMS cannot provide IMS account credits for items not purchased directly through the IMS Ticket Office or IMS.com website.
  • If I sell my tickets online, will that person be able to renew those seats for 2021?
  • Only the IMS customer of record will be able to renew their seats for 2021.
  • Is there a digital ticket available for Indianapolis 500 Race Day?
  • Yes, your replacement Indianapolis 500 Race Tickets may be delivered electronically. If you would like to switch to digital delivery, please email the IMS Ticket Office at tickets@brickyard.com or indicate that preference when you complete your new ticket request for the 2020 event.
  • Are my items now valid for rescheduled August dates?
  • Replacement Indianapolis 500 Race Day tickets are required for entry to the facility on Sunday, August 23. All original parking, camping, practice tickets, qualifications tickets, Carb Day tickets, and Drivers' Meeting tickets are valid for rescheduled August dates.
  • Is there any change to the schedule for Indy 500 qualification days?

  • Can I purchase seats for the Indianapolis 500 in August?
  • You may apply to purchase tickets for the Indianapolis 500 on August 23. Please review the Application FAQ page for more information.
  • When will tickets be mailed?
  • Due to COVID-19 and the state of Indiana's stay-at-home order, delivery is delayed for many of our events. As soon as we are allowed to return to the IMS Administration Building, we will begin to mail orders after new assignments have been finalized. Customers will be notified by email when their order is mailed.
  • What happens if I am a 2020 Indy 500 ticketholder and I do not indicate my ticket preferences by the July 6 deadline?
  • You must log in to your account at IMS.com and make your selections by Monday, July 6. If you do not log in and make your selections, your ticket order may be reduced by as much as 50%, and your new seats will be assigned in or near your current location. An account credit will be issued for the number of tickets removed from your order, and new tickets will be mailed to your address on record in early August.
  • What do I do if I haven’t received my Race Day tickets?
  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Indiana stay-at-home order, the IMS offices are closed. As soon as we are allowed to return to the office, we will resume packaging and mailing tickets. If you previously received an email from us saying your tickets have been mailed, please allow one month for delivery. If you have not received your package within one month after you received that email, please call the IMS ticket office at 317-492-6700.
  • Has MotoAmerica been canceled or postponed?
  • MotoAmerica has been rescheduled to Oct. 9-11. All tickets and parking are valid for the rescheduled date.
