1985 Indianapolis 500 | Official Full-Race Broadcast | The 'Spin and Win'
The 1985 Indianapolis 500 took place on Sunday, May 26, 1985 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The 69th Running of the Indianapolis 500 was host to one of the most famous wins in Indy 500 history. As Danny Sullivan went to pass racing-legend Mario Andretti for the lead on lap 120, Sullivan's car went below the white line and subsequently spun coming out of the turn. Sullivan managed to save the car with no damage and go on to pass Andretti for the lead and ultimately win the race.
