About The Race:
The rain-interrupted 1967 race, which took two days to run, resulted in a last-minute win for A. J. Foyt, who tied with Louis Meyer, Wilbur Shaw and Mauri Rose as the only three-time winners of the "500" at that time.
USAC Midget and Sprint Car competition will take place in July 2026 on the 1/5th-mile dirt track inside Turn 3 of the IMS oval.
Four-time and reigning NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Alex Palou not only earned his first Indianapolis 500 victory on May 25, he also became the first Spaniard to cross the Yard of Bricks first in "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing."
Plenty of Brickyard history was unearthed during the project this fall in Turn 2 of the IMS oval.
