The Driven2SaveLives BC39 presented by NOS Energy Drink already has made United States Auto Club history before on-track action starts, with an all-time record entry of 118 Midget cars for the inaugural event Sept. 5-6 at The Dirt Track at IMS.

The previous record for Midget entries in the 63-year history of USAC was 109 cars for the 1990 Turkey Night Grand Prix, which was the final race conducted at the famed Ascot Park in Gardena, California.

“We’re very grateful for the overwhelmingly positive response about the Driven2SaveLives BC39 presented by NOS Energy Drink from the short-track racing community and the fans,” IMS President J. Douglas Boles said. “USAC racing is an important part of the heritage of IMS, and we can’t wait to start five straight days of exciting action at the Speedway with the BC39 leading into the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard Powered by Florida Georgia Line.”

Tickets for both nights of the Driven2SaveLives BC39 presented by NOS Energy Drink are available now at IMS.com.

The race on the new, quarter-mile clay oval inside Turn 3 of the famed IMS asphalt oval honors late USAC champion and three-time Indianapolis 500 starter Bryan Clauson and increases awareness of the Indiana Donor Network and its Driven2SaveLives campaign. The 39-lap feature event will be the richest in Midget racing, with more than $70,000 in purse and incentives, including a $15,000 winner’s purse.

An outstanding BC39 field contains 24 USAC National Midget feature winners and eight past series champs, including Dave Darland (2001-02), Tracy Hines (2015), Christopher Bell (2013), Tanner Thorson (2016), Jerry Coons Jr. (2006-07), Russ Gamester (1989), Spencer Bayston (2017) and J.J. Yeley (2013), also all feature winners.

Other USAC Midget feature winners entered include Steve Buckwalter, Shane Cottle, Zach Daum, Tyler Courtney, Critter Malone, Billy Wease, Justin Grant, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Shane Golobic, John Heydenreich, Davey Ray, Zeb Wise, Kevin Thomas Jr., current series point leader Logan Seavey, Brady Bacon and Chad Boat.

Other successful drivers in the field still seeking their first USAC National Midget victory include C.J. Leary, Chris Windom, Matt Westfall, Shane Cockrum, Tyler Thomas and Alex Bright.

Yeley is the lone driver in the field to have competed in the Indianapolis 500 and Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard Powered by Florida Georgia Line. Brickyard veterans Stenhouse and Landon Cassil are among the entrants, with Cassil making his USAC debut.

Chase Briscoe also will race in the BC39 after showing his skill on dirt by winning the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race in July at Eldora Speedway.

The BC39 starts five consecutive days of racing at IMS, leading into the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard Powered by Florida Georgia Line weekend Sept. 7-9 on the 2.5-mile IMS oval. Stenhouse also will race in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series event Sunday, Sept. 9, while Bell also will compete in the Lilly Diabetes 250 for the NASCAR Xfinity Series on Saturday, Sept. 8.

Hot laps, heat races and a pursuit race will be featured Wednesday, Sept. 5. Hot laps, practice, qualifying races, alphabet mains, including the A-Main feature, will take place Thursday, Sept. 6.

All tickets for Wednesday’s action are general admission, with children 15 and under admitted free with an adult.

Reserved and general admission seats are available for Thursday’s action. All seats in the Shaw Grandstand around The Dirt Track are reserved. All fans 15 and under will be admitted free to the general admission area, located in the Northeast Vista grandstands outside Turn 3 of the IMS oval, on Thursday when accompanied by an adult general admission ticket holder.
