Global Entertainment, the content creation arm of Ashley Tabor’s U.K.-founded Global, The Media and Entertainment Group, has announced its newest division – Global Live. Global Live is the live touring and festival promotion arm for Global Entertainment, backing live talent in the form of tour and festival promoters. Its focus will be on quality, not quantity, as evidenced by its first U.S. concert event – the Rolling Stones at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 4. Announced on March 31, the Rolling Stones’ concert is the first on a non-race week in IMS history. Global Live is led by Randy Phillips, CEO of Global Entertainment and based at the company’s new Los Angeles headquarters and London offices. In the U.S., Paul Korzilius will serve as Global Live’s senior vice president. Korzilius, a widely respected and successful senior entertainment executive with more than 35 years of experience, is manager of Bon Jovi and the recipient of Billboard Magazine’s 2013 “Manager of the Year”. In the United Kingdom, Sam Bush joins Global as director of Global Live. While with AEG UK, he was director of live music and helped book high-profile outdoor events including British Summer Time in London’s Hyde Park. He also launched the touring careers for The Vamps, Rixton and Selena Gomez. Global Live’s first U.K. promoted tour is the sold out “The Vamps” tour this April, a co-promotion with AEG. In 2014, Global also served in a consultancy capacity for Rock-In-Rio’s first U.S. iteration, with talent including Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Metallica, No Doubt, Linkin Park, Mana, Echosmith, and more. “Having built AEG Live from the ground up with some really gifted executives, I know what it takes to build a live entertainment company,” Phillips said. “Global is well positioned to do this again in the year 2015, and the industry is anxious for another professional, well resourced, financially stable live promotion company to enter the market. As a new company, whose only mandate is not to be constrained by legacy and to focus on presenting great talent on stages around the world, we are able to independently promote and/or work with partners on a project-by-project basis.”
