Starting alongside Harvick on the front row will be Jeff Gordon, who is chasing more history at the famed 2.5-mile oval. The Indiana native won the first Brickyard 400 in 1994 and has four titles in all, needing one more to tie Michael Schumacher for most wins at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Harvick’s pole is the second consecutive for Stewart-Haas Racing at the Brickyard, as Ryan Newman claimed last year’s top spot and went on to win the race.
