Schmidt Peterson Motorsports has filed a second entry for the 97th Indianapolis 500, increasing the entry number to 35 for “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”

Schmidt Peterson’s second entry was the 35th for this year’s race, which will breed even more competition for the 33 starting spots during Pole Day qualifying Saturday, May 18 and Old National Armed Forces Bump Day qualifying Sunday, May 19. The 97th Indianapolis 500 is scheduled to start at noon (ET) Sunday, May 26. ESPN on ABC, the IMS Radio Network, Sirius 211 and XM 211 will begin their live broadcasts at 11 a.m. Schmidt Peterson Motorsports also has filed an entry for rookie Tristan Vautier, the 2012 Firestone Indy Lights champion who will drive the No. 55 Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Dallara/Honda/Firestone.
