Is Marc Marquez inching closer to a third consecutive win at the Red Bull Indianapolis GP? The Spaniard put his No. 93 Repsol Honda atop the speed chart for the first time in Saturday morning practice, clocking a lap of 1 minute, 32.392 seconds around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s 16-turn, 2.591-mile road course. It was the fastest lap of the weekend. View Session Results Lap times across the field were fastest on Saturday under perfect conditions. Jorge Lorenzo, the 2009 champion who had paced Friday’s two practices, ran fifth on Saturday albeit with his fastest time of the weekend, 1:32.819 in the No. 99 Movistar Yamaha. Second behind Marquez was England’s Bradley Smith (1:32.421), then Andrea Iannone (1:32.718) and two-time Red Bull Indianapolis GP winner Dani Pedrosa (1:32.759). Qualifying is Saturday afternoon beginning at 2:10 p.m.
