byte @ THE #IWiTCHAMP Food Experience To Showcase Local Restaurants, Breweries during LPGA Tournament at Brickyard Crossing

An upgraded food experience, byte @ THE #IWiTCHAMP, will be added to the Indy Women in Tech Championship presented by Guggenheim event experience at Brickyard Crossing Golf Course.

byte @ THE #IWiTCHAMP is one of several ancillary events dedicated to furthering the mission of the tournament, which, in addition to hosting the world’s best female golfers in Indianapolis, is to provide exposure and funds for key initiatives focusing on women in tech and youth STEM and robotics programs. While restaurant participation will not be restricted, byte will aim to showcase compelling stories of diversity and highlight female chefs, restaurateurs and brewers.

This attraction will be available Friday, Sept. 8 and Saturday, Sept. 9 during the tournament, which takes place Sept. 7-9 at Brickyard Crossing, located at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Purchase byte Tickets.

“With the addition of byte @ THE #IWiTCHAMP, the tournament hopes to engage a broader audience in the community and to enhance the spectator experience for all fans who attend,” said Harry Hardy, tournament director. “byte will highlight some of the best restaurants, chefs and breweries Central Indiana has to offer. This experience will offer something for everyone, from foodies to craft beer lovers, all for an affordable price.”

Participants will include Cerulean, Daredevil Brewing Company, Garden Party Botanical Hard Soda, Sun King Brewing, Ruth’s Chris and others. The entire restaurant and brewery list can be found at iwitchamp.com.

One notable byte participant is Sabrina Richards, a 13-year-old local chef who has been featured on Rachael Ray’s Kids Cookoff, Disney’s Food and Wine Festival and local events in the Indianapolis area. Sabrina will partner with Mimi Blue Meatballs on Saturday, Sept. 9.

“Indy’s culinary scene, which has attracted national attention over the past few years, is ripe for hosting a food experience that highlights the achievements of our women-owned restaurants and chefs,” said Lauren Petersen, director of Events & Community Engagement at TechPoint and chair of the IWiT Championship Ancillary Events Committee. “The IWiT Championship event week will capture the attention of and activate diverse corners of our tech ecosystem while shining a spotlight on Indy's vibrant food scene and supporting exceptional women entrepreneurs, chefs, brewers and more.”

Tickets are expected to be in high demand, so attendees are encouraged to purchase in advance. Fully inclusive of food and beverage, ticket prices for byte @ THE #IWiTCHAMP are $40 per day, which also includes admission to the golf tournament. Ticket holders who have already bought golf tickets can purchase an upgrade for $20 each day. Children 17 and under receive a free golf grounds ticket, but must purchase an upgraded ticket to be admitted into byte @ THE #IWiTCHAMP.

Tickets and information for both the golf tournament and byte @ THE #IWiTCHAMP are available at IMS.com and iwitchamp.com.
