Fuzzy's Ultra Premium Vodka Celebrates Indy 500 With Checkered Flag Bottle

Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka has unveiled the Checkered Flag Limited Edition bottle for its award-winning spirit to commemorate its involvement with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race and INDYCAR.

Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka, the Official Vodka of the INDYCAR, the Official Vodka of the 2013 Indianapolis 500 and primary sponsor for Ed Carpenter Racing, began the concept of the Checkered Flag Limited Edition bottle at last year’s Indy 500, as the Indiana-based company looked to create a bottle that showcased its passion for the world’s biggest racing event and the highly competitive open-wheel series.

With more than four years of involvement with Indianapolis Motor Speedway and INDYCAR, Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka looked to capture the history and tradition of the Indianapolis 500 in a bottle. After a long process of design and production spanning nearly a year, the Checkered Flag Limited Edition is available at retail.

The Checkered Flag bottle retains a similar look to the original design, but the unique golf imagery course has been replaced with the view from Turn 1 of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway looking down the front straightaway at the start of the Indianapolis 500. The “Wing and Wheel” symbol of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is prominently featured on the bottle, as well as the checkered flag top completing the bottle.

No stranger to taking the checkered flag, Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka captured the prestigious Chairman’s Trophy at the 2012 Ultimate Spirits Challenge for the Best Unflavored Vodka, as well as a Great Value Award. Fuzzy’s has also received the coveted gold medal and 94 rating from the Beverage Testing Institute three times.

“Growing up and spending most of my life in Indiana, I’ve always been a big fan of the Indy 500,” said Fuzzy Zoeller, a native of New Albany and former Masters and U.S. Open champion. “We wanted to create something that showed our passion for the Brickyard and the Indianapolis 500. We’ve been with Ed since 2010 and have been blessed to be involved with such a great sport and series. I hope that racing fans see that passion in our bottle and enjoy the vodka a little, too. Just remember to trust your caddie, and please drink responsibly. And if you need a driver, give Ed a call.”

Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka first sponsored Carpenter’s entry in the 2010 Indy 500 and has been involved with Indianapolis Motor Speedway and “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” for the past four years. In 2012, Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka increased its sponsorship partnering with Carpenter’s new team, Ed Carpenter Racing, and becoming the Official Vodka of INDYCAR. In addition, Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka brought back a longstanding tradition with its sponsorship of the Fuzzy’s Triple Crown in 2013.

“Fuzzy’s Vodka has been a great partner for me and our team, and this exciting new bottle is a collector’s item for any racing fan,” said Carpenter, who will attempt to qualify for his 10th Indy 500 this May. “It is great to have two Indiana legends, Fuzzy Zoeller and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, blending together again in 2013. Now our goal is to put the Fuzzy’s Vodka car in victory lane.”

Ryan Hunter-Reay didn’t want to celebrate his win at Pocono last year. And he wasn’t alone. Points and trophies were duly awarded after the checkered flag flew at the 2-mile superspeedway, but in light of the accident that would claim the life of his teammate Justin Wilson the following day, Pocono 2015 is more a reminder of what IndyCar lost than anything its finishers gained.
