Hard rock superstars Staind with special guests Papa Roach will provide a powerful bill at the Miller Lite Carb Day concert on Friday, May 27 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The concert, free with Miller Lite Carb Day admission of $20, will start at 3:30 p.m. (ET) on the Miller Lite Stage in the IMS infield. Miller Lite Carb Day tickets are available now at www.IndianapolisMotorSpeedway.com/carbday.

“We’re excited to welcome Staind and special guest Papa Roach to the Miller Lite Stage at the 100th Anniversary Indianapolis 500,” said Jeff Belskus, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation president and chief executive officer. “This high-energy concert will definitely put Race Weekend into top gear for our loyal fans.”

Staind, formed in 1995 in Massachusetts, has sold nearly 13 million albums over the course of six full-length releases since 1996 and is putting the final touches on its seventh album. The band had four consecutive albums debut in the top three on the Billboard 200 chart due to the strength of hits such as “Outside,” “It’s Been Awhile,” “Epiphany,” “Right Here” and “Believe.” Lead singer Aaron Lewis has also enjoyed solo success with the release of the EP “Town Line” in March 2011, which went to No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Album chart.

Staind is comprised of Aaron Lewis (vocals, guitar), Mike Mushok (guitar), Jon Wysocki (drums, percussion) and Johnny April (bass, vocals).

Papa Roach has sold more than 10 million albums. With their feet firmly planted in more than 10 years of multi-format success with hits such as “Burn,” “Scars” and “Last Resort,” Papa Roach’s “Time For Annihilation…On the Record and On the Road” debuted as the No. 1 Independent Rock, No. 23 Top 200, No. 4 Hard Rock and No. 5 Alternative Album on Billboard’s charts. With the release of this record, the band has continued its long-term commitment to WhyHunger, raising funds and awareness for hunger and homelessness worldwide.

Papa Roach consists of Jacoby Shaddix (vocals), Jerry Horton (guitar, vocals) Tobin Esperance (bass, guitar, vocals) and Tony Palermo (drums, percussion, vocals).

The Miller Lite Carb Day Concert featuring Staind and special guest Papa Roach will be the finale of an action-packed day at IMS. The final practice for the 33 starters in the Indianapolis 500 will take place from 11 a.m.-noon, followed by the Firestone Freedom 100 race for Firestone Indy Lights at 12:30 p.m. The popular IZOD Pit Stop Challenge, which will crown the fastest crew of the Indianapolis 500, takes place from 1:30-3 p.m.

The 2011 Indianapolis 500 is scheduled for noon Sunday, May 29.
