Goodguys Rod & Custom Association’s 20-event 2012 US Tour is bringing hot rods, custom cars and classic American iron to Indianapolis Motor Speedway – the Racing Capital of the World.

The Goodguys 2nd WIX Filters Speedway Nationals Automotive Festival, scheduled for Sept. 21-23, is the only event of its kind held on the hallowed grounds of the historic Speedway. Staged throughout the infield, garage area, Gasoline Alley and the scenic Pagoda Plaza, the colorful and exciting event features more than 2,500 hot rods, customs, classics, muscle cars and tricked-out trucks on display. Throw in hundreds of vendor exhibits where you can check out the latest collector car products and trends, the Goodguys AutoCross racing competition, the swap meet and AutoTrader Classics Cars for Sale Corral, live nostalgic music, free fun stuff for the kids like the Revell Model Make n’ Take and PPG Coloring Contest and a special track cruise for registered participants around the oval, and you’ve got a vintage automotive festival designed for the whole family to enjoy!

More than just a car show, the Goodguys 2nd WIX Filters Speedway Nationals is a festival celebrating the culture and pageantry of the American automobile. It’s an event where people gather to share their cars, gawk at priceless vintage iron and dance to lively music, indulge in outrageous food, talk with product manufacturers, tour the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum and see the famous facility up close like they never have before. On Sunday, Sept. 23, Goodguys will feature the Super Sunday Get-Together, which welcomes all late model American-made or American-powered show cars to enter the event. The Super Sunday Get-Together format has allowed future generations of car buffs a chance to bring out their newer Muscle Cars to show alongside the classics, creating an even more diverse cross section of cars and fans. The program has been extremely well-received while providing the spectator with even more bang for their buck.

No stranger to Indianapolis, Goodguys staged the Hot Rod Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway for two decades before moving to Indianapolis Motor Speedway last year for a fresh start and a brand-new event.

The Goodguys 2nd WIX Filters Speedway Nationals event hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 and Saturday, Sept. 22 and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23.
