Official Recap: 2017 Indianapolis 500 Race Weekend

Watch the full recap of Memorial Day weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The weekend was packed with concerts that featured Steve Miller Band and The Barenaked Ladies rocking Miller Lite Carb Day to Keith Urban, Dustin Lynch and Clayton Anderson stunning on Legends Day presented by Firestone and finally Zedd, Marshmello and many more performing live inside the Indy 500 Snake Pit presented by Coors Light. It all led up to a dramatic finish at the 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil with Japan's Takuma Sato crossing the famous Yard of Bricks first and drinking a cold glass of milk in Victory Lane at The Racing Capital of the World.

Hinchcliffe was bumped out of the field by friend and former roommate Conor Daly with less than 20 minutes left in the session. The Schmidt Peterson Motorsports crew rolled the No. 5 Arrow Electronics Honda into the priority qualifying line, but Hinchcliffe sensed a vibration in the car on the warmup lap and didn’t start the attempt.

Rahal was the fastest among the full complement of 35 drivers who turned laps under sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-80s, with a top lap of 226.047 mph in the No. 15 United Rentals Honda. Rahal’s top lap came with the benefit of an aerodynamic tow, as his best solo lap was 219.368 mph.
