Park, Salas Share Lead in Round Two of the Indy Women in Tech Championship

The second round of the Indy Women in Tech Championship Driven by Group 1001 was suspended at 8:22 p.m. ET due to darkness. Seventy-two players will return to the course Saturday morning at 7:45 a.m. to finish the second round.

Sung Hyun Park and Lizette Salas share the early lead after day two in Indianapolis. Each completing their rounds before the delay.

Park posted a 9-under, 63, her best in 2018.  She agreed through an interpreter that it was, in fact, her best round to date, but explained that her putting was what really helped her out there today.

The Republic of Korea native carded three birdies on the front nine and six on the back to post the low round of the day.

“I'm going to do really well,” said Park. “I feel really good about my game, especially my short game, since my practice. And it's just about -- it's about the weather now, so hopefully, the weather's good.”

Salas took advantage of an early start and had another solid day.  She admitted it was going to be hard to top her 62 yesterday but knew she had to remain patient, knowing the golf course would play differently on day two.

“I mean, well, it's early morning, so -- I don't know,” said Salas. “This was a completely different golf course, so I had to change my mentality a little bit and just kind of -- I had to forget about the 62 in a way and just go back to what I was doing. And so yeah, a lot of positives.”

She’s hoping to make more putts this weekend but doesn’t plan to change much.

‘Honestly, just keeping the same mentality, same aggressiveness on certain clubs and certain pins. I think it's pretty boring for me,” explained Salas.

Danielle Kang and Nasa Hataoka sit two back of Park and Salas at 11-under par. The hope is to start round three at approximately 12:00 p.m. in groups of three, off of the 1st and 10th tees.
