Thirty-Two Cars on Initial Entry List for Inaugural Event Sept. 5-6 at The Dirt Track at IMS NASCAR Star Stenhouse, USAC Legends Coons, Hines among Drivers To Race in BC39

Thirty-two drivers and cars are on the initial entry list for the inaugural Driven2SaveLives BC39 presented by NOS Energy Drink on Sept. 5-6 at The Dirt Track at IMS, with more entries expected.

The United States Auto Club P1 Insurance Midget National Championship event will take place on the new quarter-mile clay oval located inside Turn 3 of the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway asphalt oval. The event honors late USAC champion and three-time Indianapolis 500 starter Bryan Clauson and increases awareness of the Indiana Donor Network and its Driven2SaveLives campaign.

The 39-lap feature event will be the richest in Midget racing, with more than $70,000 in purse and incentives, including a $15,000 winner’s purse. The event starts five consecutive days of racing at IMS, leading into the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard Powered by Florida Georgia Line weekend Sept. 7-9 on the 2.5-mile IMS oval.

Tickets for the Driven2SaveLives BC39 presented by NOS Energy Drink are available now at IMS.com.

Clauson Marshall Racing has entered four drivers, including 2018 USAC P1 Insurance National Midget feature winners Tyler Courtney of Indianapolis and Justin Grant, plus series rookie Zeb Wise of Angola, Indiana, and Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race winner Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

USAC Triple Crown champs Tracy Hines and Jerry Coons Jr. each have filed their entries.

Hines, from New Castle, Indiana, returns to the Leader Card Racers team, which won the Indianapolis 500 three times – in 1959 and 1962 with Rodger Ward and in 1968 with Bobby Unser.

Coons is part of a three-car assault from the Petry/Goff Motorsports team, joined by Rookie sensation Jason McDougal and the No. 35 car for a driver yet to be named.

Kevin Thomas Jr., the only driver to win multiple times on both the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car and USAC P1 Insurance National Midget circuit in 2018, has entered in Joe Dooling's No. 63 car.

Two-time Indiana Midget Week champion Shane Cottle of Kokomo, Indiana, two-time Du Quoin Silver Crown winner Shane Cockrum, recent NASCAR Camping World Truck Series winner Chase Briscoe of Mitchell, Indiana, and USAC Eastern Midget point leader Andrew Layer are among the drivers in the strong field.
