Every year Miller Lite Carb Day revs everyone’s race weekend engines leading into the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil. We’re breaking down one of the best days of the year at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway so you don’t miss a thing. So grab your cooler (18”x14”x14”, of course), call in sick at work and gear up for a day everyone looks forward to every year at IMS. Gates Open at 8 a.m. Get the crew up early and head out to the track when gates open at 8 a.m. Parking is available throughout all of our exterior parking lots with paid parking available in lots 1B, 2, 3G, Main Gate and Parcel B while limited free parking is available in our North 40 parking lot while spots are available. Parking in the infield is all pre-paid, so if you don’t have a parking pass you can’t park inside the track as this is sold out. Also, be sure to check out our gate regulations page to see all of the items you can and can’t bring into the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Final Indy 500 Practice (11 a.m. - noon) Don’t miss your last chance to see the 33 drivers who will compete in the 102nd Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil during their final practice session on Miller Lite Carb Day. Indy Lights Freedom 100 Race (12:30 p.m.) After the final Indy 500 practice, stay and watch the future stars of the Indy 500 during the Freedom 100 race featuring drivers of Indy Lights. We could see another fantastic race, like the four-wide finish from 2013. Watch Video
IMS Midway (Open 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.) While you’re enjoying Miller Lite Carb Day, don’t miss all of the exciting activities and areas within the IMS Midway. This year we really amped up our Midway with karting, virtual reality simulators, displays and much more! Learn More Indy 500 Pit Stop Challenge (1:45 – 3 p.m.) Another fun Miller Lite Carb Day tradition is the annual Indy 500 Pit Stop Challenge. This fan-favorite event pits two drivers and their teams against each another for the best pit stop times. This bracket-style competition always delivers an exciting show for fans and another way to see their favorite drivers compete at IMS.
Miller Lite Carb Day Concerts (Concert Venue Opens at 2 p.m.) It wouldn’t be Miller Lite Carb Day without the concerts! This year Train headlines the concert along with special guests Blues Traveler. The concert venue opens at 2 p.m. with Blues Traveler set to kick off the concert at 3:30 p.m. and Train hitting the stage at 5 p.m. You can even upgrade your concert experience with tickets into the Concert Pit. Don’t Forget To Hydrate Please remember to hydrate and apply sunscreen during your stay at IMS. Vendors and shops throughout the track offer these for purchase. You can also pack your cooler with plenty of water for you and your friends.
