Lights at the Brickyard, the popular, drive-through holiday display that debuted last year at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, opens Friday evening, Nov. 17 to provide warm memories for families at the Racing Capital of the World. The displays return through Saturday, Dec. 30 this year with a longer route and over 2.5 million bright lights illuminating an expanded lineup of colorful displays. The Lights at the Brickyard course is expanded to more than 2 miles from last year’s 1.7-mile layout. As in 2016, the route—which travels through the IMS infield and along the front stretch of the historic oval—crosses the world-famous Yard of Bricks start-finish line. Dozens of new displays can be seen along the route, with more than 500,000 additional lights this year. Operating hours for Lights at the Brickyard are 6-9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 6-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. There are a variety of admission options for Lights at the Brickyard: - General Admission (Standard Lane): General Admission is $25 per car on Mondays through Wednesdays. $30 per car Thursdays through Sunday and $50 for vehicles with 15 more passengers on all days. General admission can be purchased at the gate (Gate 2) or at Central Indiana Donatos locations, with each admission valid for one lap of the course per vehicle. - Speedy Pass: The popular Speedy Pass also returns, allowing participants who want the quickest access to the course to skip the longer lines and arrive through a special entry near the IMS golf course. This pass, valid for one lap of the course per vehicle, can be purchased now at IMS.com for $50 per car through Dec. 30. Speedy Passes are $50 when purchased at the gate Monday through Wednesday, $60 at the gate Thursday through Sunday. Speedy Passes for vehicles carrying 15 or more passengers are $100 for all days. - Moto Tuesdays: Participants on motorcycles can buy General Admission online for Tuesdays for $15. This special admission is valid only for those who ride the route on motorcycles and not available at the gate or for Speedy Pass access. Visit ims.com/twowheel for more information or to buy tickets. - United Way Mondays: Lights at the Brickyard participants can help Hoosier families in need during the holidays, as $5 from every admission fee on Mondays will be donated to the United Way of Central Indiana. Emmis Communications and B105.7, “Indy’s Christmas Station,” are the official radio partners of Lights at the Brickyard. Visit IMS.com/Lights for more information on Lights at the Brickyard, including a route map and gate access instructions.
