Brickyard 400 qualifying and a concert by chart-topping hard rock band Hinder will be the featured attractions Saturday, July 30 at the inaugural Brickfest at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

A new, exciting prelude to the 2011 Brickyard 400 on Sunday, July 31 at IMS, Brickfest will feature a similar format to the popular Miller Lite Carb Day held annually before the Indianapolis 500.

“The Brickyard 400 is very important for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and we want it to be a special event for our fans,” said Jeff Belskus, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation president and CEO. “By adding a Hinder concert to our qualifying day schedule, we are enhancing the overall weekend entertainment value. As this year’s event approaches, we hope to continue to add more activities that make this Brickyard 400 a must-attend weekend for race fans.”

Brickfest activities will roar to life from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30 at IMS with a practice session featuring all of the stars of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, including past winners Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson and fan favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr. Brickyard 400 qualifying will take place from 2:10-4:30 p.m., followed immediately by the Hinder concert on the main stage in the IMS infield.

Track admission for Brickfest, which includes the Hinder concert, is just $15, with kids 12 and under free when accompanied by an adult.

Selected lucky fans can meet Hinder during Brickfest. To get a chance to meet the band, use the promo code HINDER when purchasing Brickfest tickets either by calling (800) 822-INDY (4639) or (317) 492-6700, or by visiting www.imstix.com.

Hinder formed in 2001 when guitarist Joe Garvey and drummer Cody Hanson of Oklahoma City recruited singer Austin Winkler. Shortly thereafter, bass player Mike Rodden and rhythm guitarist Mark King were added.

The band’s first major-label album, “Extreme Behavior,” was released in 2005 and reached triple platinum on the strength of No. 1 single “Lips of an Angel.” Hinder’s second album, “Take it to the Limit,” debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 list and went gold in the United States.

Recognized for its bluesy, gritty hard rock and high-energy live performances, Hinder released its latest album, “All American Nightmare,” in December 2010. The album climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Top Modern Rock/Alternative charts.
