Many Fun Activities, Great Deals At IMS Fan Appreciation Day Sept. 25

IMS fans, we salute you.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is honoring its loyal fans through a variety of special activities Saturday, Sept. 25 on Fan Appreciation Day at the IMS Hall of Fame Museum. This lineup of fun will take place from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the East Museum Lot:

•Special sale at the Brickyard Authentics Gift Shop at the Museum, with up to 75 percent off selected merchandise, including souvenirs, apparel, collectibles, caps and more. Perfect for early holiday shopping or for yourself!

•Autograph sessions with selected drivers from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and with popular IMS Historian Donald Davidson from noon-1 p.m., both in front of the Museum. Drivers scheduled to sign: Tomas Scheckter, IZOD IndyCar Series; Pippa Mann, Phillip Major, Firestone Indy Lights; Bob Harkey, Steve Chassey, Paul Goldsmith, Eldon Rasmussen, Indianapolis 500.

•An IZOD IndyCar Series simulator, on which fans can drive for the best time of the day, and cornhole boards, both providing good-natured competition among fans in front of the Museum.

•2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS Indianapolis 500 Pace Car on display in front of the Museum.

The Coca-Cola Pit Stop will be open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Museum, serving discounted food and drinks.

Fans who can’t visit IMS for Fan Appreciation Day still can find great deals on selected merchandise at the Brickyard Authentics Online Store from Friday, Sept. 24 through Monday, Sept. 27 at www.brickyardauthentics.com.

Fan Appreciation Day activities are free. Admission to the Hall of Fame Museum is $5 for adults, $3 for ages 6-15, with 6 and under free.

2011 IMS tickets: Fans can get details on tickets for the three races in 2011 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway – the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 29, the Brickyard 400 on Sunday, July 31 and the Red Bull Indianapolis GP on Sunday, Aug. 28 at www.imstix.com.
