2011 Brickyard 400 Scheduled For Sunday, July 31

The 18th annual Brickyard 400 will take place Sunday, July 31, 2011, according to the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule released Aug. 18.

The annual NASCAR mid-summer classic at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will be the 20th of 36 races on the 2011 Sprint Cup Series schedule.

“We’re excited to maintain our end-of-July date for the Brickyard 400,” said Jeff Belskus, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation president and CEO. “The 2011 race again will be one of the true marquee events in NASCAR, as the Brickyard 400 is steeped in history, tradition and great drivers in Victory Lane.”

A race Sunday, July 17 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway will precede the Brickyard 400. No race is scheduled for the week before the Brickyard 400.

The series then will head to Pocono Raceway after the Brickyard 400 for a race Sunday, Aug. 7.
Jamie McMurray won the 2010 Brickyard 400 in the No. 1 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Chevrolet for his first victory in the prestigious race. He became just the third driver to win the Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400 and also gave team owner Chip Ganassi an unprecedented sweep of the Daytona 500, Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400 in the same year.

A new, two-tiered ticket pricing program is creating even more value and a wider variety of options for fans attending the 2011 Brickyard 400.

Prices have been cut in selected rows of specific grandstands at IMS. Race Day general admission ticket prices also have been reduced.

Brickyard 400 Race Day general admission tickets, which debuted in 2010 at $40, are available for 2011 at the reduced price of $30 in advance, $35 on Race Day. Fans ages 12 and under are admitted free on any day of the event with an adult holding a general admission ticket.

Prices for selected premium seats were increased slightly as part of the new program.
