The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Centennial Era Balloon Festival is a finalist for an appearance by the iconic Energizer Bunny "Hot Hare" Balloon, but the competition is fierce.

The Energizer Bunny balloon - the world's tallest - will appear at only two festivals in 2010 outside of its hometown of St. Louis, and if central Indiana residents want to see the "Hot Hare" balloon return to the IMS Centennial Era Balloon Festival on Saturday, May 8, they should vote at www.facebook.com/EnergizerBunny.

Simply click on "Indianapolis Motor Speedway Centennial Era Balloon Festival" among the finalists, and your vote will be counted. As of March 11, IMS was third in voting - one spot away from becoming a 2010 "Hot Hare" destination.

Voting is open at www.facebook.com/EnergizerBunny until 1 a.m. (ET) Monday, March 15.

At the inaugural Centennial Era Balloon Festival in 2009, the Energizer Bunny was the most popular balloon among adults and children alike, and the balloon staff handed out hundreds of pink bunny ears for children to wear throughout the weekend's festivities.

The Centennial Era Balloon Festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 8, with the Founders Race taking to Indy's skies in the morning and a host of activities, including live music, a balloon "glow" and fireworks, set for that evening. Admission is free.
