Larson To Defend 2021 Victory in BC39; 85 Cars Entered

Reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson will defend his 2021 victory in the Driven2SaveLives BC39 presented by WeatherTech on Aug. 3-4 at The Dirt Track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as the number of entries for the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget Championship event has climbed to 85 cars.

Larson is one of five entries from the CB Industries shop entered for the BC39 along with USAC Triple Crown champion Chris Windom, top series rookie Mitchel Moles and fellow first year full-timers Jade Avedisian and Jace Park.

Dave Mac Dalby Motorsports has entered its fleet of cars and drivers, which includes two-time NASCAR Cup Series winner and two-time NASCAR Xfinity Series championRicky Stenhouse Jr. and Cannon McIntosh, a recent $22,000 winner at the Huset’s Speedway USAC Nationals in South Dakota.

The event field consists of drivers from all corners of the United States, including North Dakota, Texas, California and Pennsylvania.

Among the drivers aiming for a spot in the 39-lap feature event inaugural BC39 winner Brady Bacon, USAC Triple Crown champions J.J. Yeley and Jerry Coons Jr., fellow USAC national champions Tyler Courtney, Justin Grant, Buddy Kofoid, C.J. Leary,Logan Seavey and Russ Gamester.

Other notables include USAC champion and Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400 winner Ryan Newman, 10-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car champion Donny Schatz, NASCAR Cup Series winner Chase Briscoe and NASCAR Truck Series champion Sheldon Creed.

On track action begins Wednesday, Aug. 3 on the quarter-mile dirt oval inside Turn 3 of the IMS oval. Public gates open at 4 p.m. ET with practice starting at 6 p.m., followed by opening ceremonies at 7 p.m. Heat races and the Stoops Pursuit feature race will conclude the night’s racing action.

Public gates open at 4 p.m. for the finale Thursday, Aug. 4, with practice at 4 p.m. and qualifying races at 5 p.m. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for 7:30 p.m., followed by the main feature events, the semi-feature and the 39-lap main event.
