Chase Briscoe racing in the 2018 Driven2SaveLives BC39 powered by NOS Energy Drink
Xfinity Series Standout Briscoe Ready To ‘Double Up’ at Home Track in BC39

Xfinity Series standout Chase Briscoe is the latest NASCAR driver to commit to race in the Driven2SaveLives BC39 Powered by NOS Energy Drink on Sept. 4-5 at The Dirt Track at IMS.

Briscoe, a native of Mitchell, Indiana, will drive his No. 5B car in the USAC National Midget Series event on the quarter-mile clay oval located inside Turn 3 of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Experienced short-track driver Briscoe also competed in the inaugural BC39 last September.

2016 ARCA champion Briscoe is enjoying a strong season with Stewart-Haas Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He is sixth in the series standings, with a victory at Iowa Speedway, and will race in the Indiana 250 on Saturday, Sept. 7 on the 2.5-mile IMS oval. Briscoe also reinforced his dirt racing credentials last year by winning the Eldora Dirt Derby in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series.

Briscoe joins Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series stars Kyle Larson and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and fellow NASCAR Xfinity Series title contender Christopher Bell in the growing field for the BC39, which features 69 entries, with more expected before the Aug. 29 entry deadline.

Among the newest entries joining Briscoe is 1989 USAC National Midget champion Russ Gamester of Peru, Indiana, a winner in all three of USAC’s National divisions throughout his career with 12 National Midget wins, six Silver Crown victories and a single National Sprint Car triumph.

Making his BC39 debut is Cannon McIntosh, who scored his first career USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget victory indoors in March at the Southern Illinois Center in Du Quoin.

Other drivers assigned to new entries include Travis Berryhill, David Budres and Ethan Mitchell.

These drivers join a lineup boosted by six other USAC National Midget champions: Bell, Spencer Bayston, Jerry Coons Jr., Dave Darland, Logan Seavey and Tanner Thorson.

Another prominent recent entry is defending BC39 winner Brady Bacon, who will drive the No. 76E car fielded by FMR Racing. Two-time USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car champion Bacon led the final nine laps to capture the inaugural event last September.

Other top drivers previously entered include Michael Pickens of New Zealand, Tyler Courtney, Chris Windom, Zeb Wise, Andrew Layser, Kevin Thomas Jr., Thomas Meseraull, David Prickett, Tyler Thomas, Brent Beauchamp, Justin Grant, Critter Malone, Shane Cottle, Matt Westfall, Shannon McQueen and many others.

Tickets for the Driven2SaveLives BC39 Powered by NOS Energy Drink are on sale at www.ims.com, along with tickets for the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard Powered by Florida Georgia Line on Sunday, Sept. 8 and the Indiana 250 and FGL Fest on Saturday, Sept. 7.

On-track action begins Wednesday, Sept. 4 at the quarter-mile Dirt Track at IMS. Public gates open at 3 p.m., with cars on track for practice at 4 p.m., followed by opening ceremonies at 7 p.m. Heat races and the Stoops Pursuit race will conclude the night’s racing action.

Public gates will open at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5 for the second and final night of action. Cars will be on track for practice at 4 p.m., with qualifying races at 5 p.m. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and followed by the main feature events, starting with multiple D-Mains and C-Mains, the semi-feature and the 39-lap main event.
