IMS Radio Network/INDYCAR Radio Wins Prestigious NMPA Awards

The IMS Radio Network and INDYCAR Radio earned a prestigious first-place award in the Live Event Radio Broadcast category at the recent National Motorsports Press Association (NMPA) awards ceremony for its thrilling Race Day broadcast of the 105th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge last May.
NMPA also presented the IMS Radio Network a fifth-place award for its tribute to anchor Bob Jenkins, who passed away last August after a valiant fight with cancer.
“It's truly an honor to get this recognition from our peers,” said Chris Pollock, director of the IMS Radio Network and INDYCAR Radio. “I couldn't ask for a better team of broadcasters, both on-air and behind the scenes, working hard each year to bring the Indy 500 to our listeners. So proud of their dedication and talent."
For more than 55 years, the NMPA has honored writers, broadcasters and photojournalists from news outlets covering motorsports. Each year they gather to recognize the best in a wide range of categories. With the pandemic sidelining last year’s event, the 2022 NMPA awards accepted entries for consideration from both 2020 and 2021.
The IMS Radio Network and INDYCAR Radio have been the audio home of the Indianapolis 500 and INDYCAR SERIES racing since the IMS Radio Network was formed in 1952.
INDYCAR Radio coverage of the 2022 NTT INDYCAR SERIES and Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires season will start with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg presented by RP Funding on Feb. 25-27 on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida.
The St. Petersburg races will air live on network affiliates, SiriusXM 160, indycar.com and the INDYCAR Mobile app powered by NTT DATA. All NTT INDYCAR SERIES and Indy Lights practices and qualifying are available on SiriusXM 160, indycar.com and the INDYCAR Mobile app.
