Tribute to American Racing Legend Dan Gurney

Dan Gurney, one of America’s true auto racing heroes, passed away Sunday, Jan. 14 in Southern California following complications with pneumonia. He was 86. Gurney is survived by his wife, Evi, and four children. Services will be private, per Gurney’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hoag Hospital Foundation in Newport Beach, California. Condolences and sentiments can be sent to eagleracingcarsusa@aarinc.com.

Ed Carpenter Wins Pole Position for the 102nd Running of the Indianapolis 500
Then hometown hero Ed Carpenter took to the 2.5-mile oval on the second-to-last attempt of the Fast Nine Shootout and ignited the crowd, claiming his third career pole for “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” with a four-lap average of 229.618 mph in the No. 20 Ed Carpenter Racing Fuzzy’s Vodka Chevrolet.
