Rev 2023 To Celebrate 10 Years with 88 Featured Chefs

Rev presented by Fifth Third Bank, Indiana University Health Foundation’s signature event on May 6, will feature a record 88 chefs from Central Indiana’s favorite restaurants.

To honor Rev’s 10th year as the kickoff to the Month of May at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, event goers will enjoy 18 more driver-inspired cuisine options than ever before.

“Today marks 100 days before Rev 10,” Rev Executive Director Carol Howard said. “So, just as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway celebrates 100 days until the Indianapolis 500 every year, we’ve decided to celebrate our 100-day point by announcing this expansion of our culinary program. We usually cap chef and restaurant participation at 70, but this year we’re making room for almost 20 more. Our guests love trying all of our unique food options, and this will give them even more flavors to experience.”

The addition of 18 chefs is another milestone for Rev 2023, which sold out in record time Dec. 1.

A few comments from some of Rev’s chefs are below.

  • Chef Abbi Merriss, Bluebeard: “Rev was one of the first offsite events we participated in and one of the only offsite events that we commit to doing every year. We couldn't imagine kicking off May without it. Our team jockeys for Rev shifts almost a year in advance. It is such a wonderful event to do and there is nothing like seeing all of our industry friends in the same spot year after year.”
  • Mandy Selke, co-owner of Just Pop In!: “Just Pop In! has had the privilege of supporting Rev since inception, and we’re elated to be invited to return for the 10th year. This unique event truly ignites inspiration in our staff, unites our food-forward community and shines recognition on Indy’s independent food scene.”
  • Chef Neal Brown, One Trick Pony: “While Rev’s mission is to raise funds to support trauma and critical care programs for IU Health statewide, it also continues to deliver a well-organized showcase of the best culinary talent in the state of Indiana. Chefs always put a star on their calendars for Rev.”
  • Chef Craig Baker, Team Indiana: “Rev is one of the only events that, as a chef, you absolutely want to do every year. There’s something about the people, race car drivers and venue that make the evening very special. The fact that funds go to a great cause with IU Health tops it all off.”

More than 20 artists and entertainment acts will also perform throughout the event. Rev ends with a dance party on the racetrack’s famed Yard of Bricks start-finish line as a DJ plays music from the flag stand above the track.

Rev 2023 is sold out, but anyone who still wants to purchase a ticket may join a waitlist at revindy.org/attend. About 3,500 are expected to attend.
