 1980 INDY 500 I remember 1980 at the 500 because of my friend Johnny Rutherford (LONE STAR JR)winning. I also remember Johnny coming into the pits after his win and picking up a driver and bringing him to near the garages. His name was Tim Richmond and he was the rookie of the year (ROY). Here was the winner and the rookie riding on the yellow car together down pit lane ! Quite a site ! I also liked Tim as a driver as well as John. |
