The sorriest spectacle in motor racing.
The sorriest spectacle in motor racing. There should be a refund of at least half the ticket price. But there never will be. Nascar and Indy and Goodyear and all of those involved really don't care about the fans anymore. Its all about money ,lots of money. And they really don't care weather you go next year or not. They will just sell your tickets to someone else. Welcome to the world of big money all for show sports. Real racing like other sports disappeared long ago.Its not about daring and who,s the best. Indy 500 is not what it used to be either. Its all just politically correct now. The required number of women and other groups must be represented. The speeds are carefully controlled. The second a piece of paper lands on the track there is a caution for 10 laps. Its just a bunch of technicians and big money and big babies. These big races are really all about the television coverage and advertisement revenue. They would still go on without any fans. I wasted $400 dollars and 400 miles. I will never go to another Nascar race again. I will GO to OUTLAW SPRINT CAR and go kart races, thats real fun racing. Thanks for the worst race I ever seen.

 Been to them all
My kids Quarter Midget racing the day before the 400 was a hell of allot better.  Free admission, good seats ( can see the entire track )  good food and drinks at a great price, and they ran 30 lap features without competion yellows.  Take this as it is.  Indy, Goodyear, and NASCAR need to go back and look at grass root racing.  Because you failed everone who loves motorsports with that ridiculas display .  Every ticket holder diserves a discount on next year ticket.  I am not renewing our tickets.  I will wait until practice and qualifing are over then I will go to the ticket window and purchase tickets the day of the race.  Because trust me they will be available.  I watched the replay on TV and there was plenty of seats empty. Next year you will be able to choose your seat the day of the race and keep your money in the bank for the year as well.

remember don't purchase your tickets until the morning of the race......

 Still waiting
I have all but decided not to order my seats for next year. Paddock Penthouse at $150 each for the four seats?

My wife wants to give them another chance, but without any refund or discount given to ticket holders from this year, I won't do it.

I gotta agree seats will be availible cheap on the day of the race, so why bother. Next year I'll put out an ad about a month before the race offering 1/2 price from face value. Bet I will still be able to get really good seats.

Figure I'll save a few bucks and take her to an outlaw race or two instead. Then I'll be able to spring for a nice dinner out too.

 BRICKYARD 400-2008
THIS RACE WAS NOT MUCH OF A RACE, WHEN THEY HAVE TO RE-GROUP EVERY 10-12 OR SO LAPS. WE ALL PAID TO SEE A RACE. WE SHOULD BE REIMBURSED SOMETING. I AM SURE THE TRACK PERSONAL WOULD NOT WANT TO PAY TO SEE WHAT WE WAS OFFERED AT THIS YEARS 400. EVEN LAST YEAR AT THE MICHIGAN RACE WHEN IT WAS RAINED OUT TILL TUESDAY, THEY WAS KIND ENOUGH TO SEND TICKET HOLDERS A $20.00 GAS CARD. THAT WASN'T MUCH, BUT IT SURE WAS APPRECIATED!!!

They DON'T Care!!!!, they have your money!
After 13 years straight, of going to the "Brickyard", we have decided not to renew our Tickets.
I called the IMS 800 number, (talked to a very nice gal), asked her if they were offering any type of incentive, after this years joke of a race. She said we were provided a 400 mile race, therfore, nothing to offer. I figured after an 8 hour drive, motel, gas, tickets, (4@ $150.00), total of $1500.00, (no meals!), we would be best not to renew. I guess we are better off watching it on TV, (till there are no fans at the race, and it goes to pay-per-view). In the mean time, go to your local dirt track, they are thrilled to have you, and they won't treat you like crap-after they have used your $ for over 9 months, like IMS! (It's pretty sad when the only "Cup" race you attend each year, turns out to be such a farce, and you're embarassed, when friends ask you about it!) (Even NON-RACE fans have read about the disaster)!

I agree with Bob Smith as season ticket holders if this is what racing is all about why should I renew.  At almost $100 a piece I didn't pay to see such a sorry spectable.  All fans should be reimbursed some cost and any one renewing should receive a discount now.

Mike Helton and NASCAR are to blame
I have been to last 22 Indy 500 and all of the brickyards, and I will go next year.We should put the blame where it belongs and that is Mike Helton and NASCAR.Mike tells the drivers to quit complaning.Because the fan are spending money to see them when times are tough. Then Mike turns around and sticks it to every person that was there.Because they did not see fit to have a full test session.Mike and the boys have ruined NASCAR by the chase and the C.O.T . Now they are taking it to the fans.I just hope next years race will be better or it will be my last
