Legendary MotoGP Champion Stoner To Retire, Will Ride One Of Final Races At IMS
Red Bull Indianapolis GP fans can see one of the final races of the illustrious motorcycle racing career of two-time MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner on Aug. 17-19 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as Stoner announced May 17 that he will retire after the 2012 season.

Injury Sidelines American MotoGP Star Edwards Until Early June
American Colin Edwards is scheduled to return to the MotoGP World Championship at the Grand Prix of Catalunya on June 3 after undergoing successful surgery May 7 to repair a broken collarbone. He will miss the next race, the French Grand Prix, on May 20 at Le Mans.

Jorge Lorenzo Opens 2012 With Victory In Qatar
Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha Factory Racing) took his first premier class victory at the Losail International Circuit to open the 2012 MotoGP™ season in the best possible manner, after battling reigning World Champion Casey Stoner and the Australian's Repsol Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa for the duration of the 22-lap race on Sunday evening. It was also a superb start to the new 1000cc era in MotoGP, as the CRT machines also made their debut in an action-packed race.

2011 Red Bull Indianapolis GP winner Casey Stoner is back on his Repsol Honda after winning his second World Championship, with former Indy winner Dani Pedrosa again as his teammate. 2009 Indy winner Jorge Lorenzo and American Ben Spies are teammates once again at on the Yamaha factory team. And inaugural Red Bull Indianapolis GP winner Valentino Rossi and American Nicky Hayden return to form Ducati’s factory attack of World Champions.

Noyes’ Notebook - Stoner Even Faster Than He Looks
Honda’s reigning champion, Casey Stoner, reminds paddock veterans of Mick Doohan. Jeremy Burgess used to say that Mick’s goal was to keep his name at the top of the timing monitors from the first free session right through qualifying. The reason was not so much to boost Mick’s always-strong confidence as it was to keep the pressure on his rivals.

Stoner Sets Eyes On Qatar After Topping Pre-Season Tests
The MotoGP™ class was blessed with close to ideal conditions at Jerez on Sunday, where the third and final day of the Official Test took place. With the first practice session of the season's opening race – the Commercialbank Grand Prix of Qatar – less than two weeks away, all 21 riders who will make up the elite category grid in 2012 were able to pack in a full day's work at the southern Spanish circuit thanks to clear blue skies and favourable temperatures.

Plenty Of History, Tradition At Turn One Gate At IMS
Friday, March 23 marked what is becoming another Indianapolis Motor Speedway tradition and a sure sign that the Indianapolis 500 will soon be upon us. The placing of the racing flags atop what is now called the Turn One Gate (it used to be called Gate 1) began in the late 1990s as a way to celebrate and announce the beginning of a new IndyCar season. But it is the history of the gate, and what it has meant to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway that intrigues me.

Stoner Claims Fastest Lap At Day One At Jerez
The final official MotoGP™ Test of the pre-season at Jerez got underway on Friday with Casey Stoner laying down the fastest time, as the reigning World Champion shot to the top of the timesheet with his 54th and final lap of the opening day. Breaking the 1'40” barrier with five of his laps, it was the Repsol Honda rider's final turn of the session which left him 0.273s quicker than Jorge Lorenzo.
Stoner's blistering lap of 1'39.146 came after the Australian spent most of the latter part of the day heading out for runs of between three and four laps, as many riders found increasingly windier conditions harder to deal with.

In addition, a raffle will take place at 11 a.m. featuring great prizes, including race tickets to the Indianapolis 500, Super Weekend at the Brickyard and Red Bull Indianapolis GP. The event will take place rain or shine.
