IMS 'Going Green' With Business After Hours Event March 15

The Business After Hours event March 15 at IMS, which will have a St. Patrick's Day theme, promotes business-to-business and personal relationships while allowing participants to increase referral networks, increase name recognition, gain visibility and strengthen relationship skills.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce will team up to "go green" Thursday, March 15, in honor of St. Patrick's Day, for a Business After Hours networking event in the Plaza Pavilion at IMS.

This edition of the popular networking reception will take place from 5-7 p.m. in Plaza Pavilions 1A and 1B. Entry fees are $10 for Chamber Members and $25 for non-members. All participants must pay at the door; there is no online registration. IMS Radio Network Anchor Mike King will emcee the evening.

Various Indianapolis-area venues play host to the monthly Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours. The event facilitates business-to-business and personal networking opportunities, and allows participants to increase referral networks, increase name recognition, gain visibility and strengthen relationship skills.

One of the most popular segments of this monthly mingling is the High Speed Networking Table, where new members or those new to networking can gather for a quick, structured networking round before heading off to socialize and network on their own.

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is "going green" for this lively event.

Ron Green, IMS director of public relations, will preview the Month of May schedule for the Indianapolis 500, and IMS Historian Donald Davidson will reveal the green history of IMS and some of its green superstitions.

Participants also can work on their tee-to-green game and get a personal golf swing analysis from Sam Foley, manager of business development at Brickyard Crossing Golf Course.

Along with other green décor, two green cars will be on display from the IMS Hall of Fame Museum; Roberto Guerrero's famous Quaker State green Lola Buick, which he crashed on the Pace Lap of the 1992 Indianapolis 500 after qualifying on the pole, and a green antique passenger Cadillac that was donated to the Museum by the famous Block family.

A St. Patrick's Day event would not be complete without a traditional Irish feast. Carefully chosen by Jeff Greenspan, IMS manager of food and beverage catering, the menu will feature shepherd's pie, Irish whiskey pork loin, green beer and Irish whiskey, among other Irish favorites.
