The Indy Women in Tech Championship presented by Guggenheim officials announced that they will be rerouting the Brickyard Crossing Golf Course for the inaugural LPGA event in Indianapolis. The event is scheduled to take place September 5-9 and will feature the world’s best female golfers. The reroute will see traditional holes 7-10 inside the track become tournament holes 15-18, the procession of the remaining holes will also change. The decision to reroute the golf course was done to create a more impactful experience for players, spectators, and television viewers. “The change will give us the chance in year one to create images, memories and a progressive TV broadcast that will transcend the sport and appropriately showcase what we consider the most unique venue in tournament golf. We can’t wait to see one of the world’s best female golfers holing a putt on the new tournament hole 18, to win $300,000 and the inaugural IWiT Championship as the iconic Pagoda looks over us. All of our tournament partners share our enthusiasm for this change.” said Harry Hardy, Tournament Director. The Indy Women in Tech Championship presented by Guggenheim, will feature a full field of 144 players. While the official field list is not final until Tuesday, August 29, a number of the world’s best have already committed to play. Eleven out the twelve United States Solheim Cup players have confirmed their spot in the event, including World Number Two Lexi Thompson, KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Winner Danielle Kang, and fan favorites Paula Creamer and Michelle Wie. “We are delighted with the strength of the field and the support from top players for the inaugural Indy Women in Tech Championship. For year one of the tournament we elected to go with a three day event to ensure we would have the strongest field possible for the golf fans of Indianapolis. The Women in Tech initiatives in connection with the tournament provide a compelling backdrop for the most recognizable names in women’s golf to play here at the Brickyard.” said Dan Towriss President and CEO of Guggenheim Life and Annuity. Tickets for the event start at $17 and children 17 and under get in free with a ticketed adult. Tuesday’s practice rounds and Wednesday's Pro-Am are free and open to the public.
