Jeff Gordon
Rich History, Prestige of Brickyard 400 Featured in New Section of IMS Website

Two stars were born when the checkered flag flew over the inaugural Brickyard 400 on Aug. 6, 1994 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

One was race winner Jeff Gordon, who rocketed into the racing stratosphere with the historic victory. The other was the race itself, which drew a huge crowd and rave reviews as the first race at IMS other than the Indianapolis 500 since 1916.

Fans can gear up for the 24th edition of the Brantley Gilbert Big Machine Brickyard 400 on July 21-23 at IMS by taking a virtual drive down memory lane at a new section of the IMS website, featuring the rich history, prestige and greatest moments from the first 23 years of the race, one of the crown jewels of NASCAR.
